17.09.2024

Uman National University of Horticulture continues to strengthen its position as a leading participant in international educational initiatives by actively implementing the ERASMUS+KA2 DEFEP project “Distance education for future: best EU practices in response to the requests of modern higher education seekers and labor market”. This project is aimed at implementing sustainable and effective distance learning as a separate form of education in the Eastern Partnership countries, including Ukraine and Moldova.

The DEFEP project aims to create a modern system of distance education in higher education institutions that will not only respond to future challenges related to technological transformations of the labor market and changes in the behavioral and ideological priorities of younger generations, but also contribute to the development of professional competencies and so-called “soft skills” of students in accordance with the needs of the labor market. An important aspect of the project is also to ensure the principle of barrier-free education, create a safe educational environment and improve the quality of education in today’s realities.

One of the important steps within the project was the admission campaign and enrollment of 13 students in the distance learning program “Social Security Economics” in the specialty 232 “Social Security” of the second (master’s) level of higher education. This program is aimed at training highly qualified specialists who are able to respond to modern challenges in the social and economic sphere using innovative approaches and methods of distance learning.

The implementation of the DEFEP project will allow the university not only to improve the quality of education but also to expand opportunities for students by providing them with access to high-level educational content adapted to modern requirements. In addition, participation in the project will help to improve the existing system of distance education at the university by attracting European experience and best practices. The participation of Uman National University of Horticulture in the Erasmus+ DEFEP project is a confident step towards creating a competitive and flexible education system that meets the requirements of today and prepares students for a successful career in the modern labor market.
